For a lot of people, their uncle is just a guy who they see on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although they like their uncle and get along with him just fine, he really doesn’t play a major role in their lives. However, this is not at all what my relationship with my uncle is like. While I do always see him on Thanksgiving and Christmas, I also see him a lot more frequently than just on these two holidays. Since I was little, my uncle has always played a major role in my life, and I feel lucky to have someone who has cared about me so much. When I was having problems that I didn’t want to discuss with my parents, my uncle was always the person I could turn to.
Even though I’m older, my uncle and I are still extremely close. Recently, my uncle had his birthday, and to show him my appreciation for everything he’s done for me over the years, I decided to get him a really special present. The present I gave him was a week long trip to Dublin for the two of us. Our trip is still several months away, but we are both extremely excited to get to visit Dublin.
